Date Supply Factory Management & Operations System

An integrated TASK system for managing date supply and running multiple factories on a unified platform, powered by a smart quota-allocation algorithm and an automated workflow from submission to receipt-document issuance.

The National Center for Palms and Dates is a central body for organising and developing the Saudi date sector. With multiple factories and a large supplier base, a number of operational challenges emerged, including:

  • Organising date supply from a large number of clients
  • Ensuring fair allocation of supply quotas aligned with production capacity
  • Reducing congestion at receiving sites
  • Raising the accuracy of inspection and weighing operations
  • Unifying operational procedures across more than one factory
  • Providing accurate reporting to support decision-making

TASK designed and built an integrated system for managing date supply that runs multiple factories on a unified platform, covering the full supply cycle from pre-planning through receipt-document issuance.

The system is powered by a smart allocation algorithm that distributes supply quotas fairly across clients, taking into account:

  • The operational capacity of each factory
  • Daily production capacity
  • The number of suppliers and total demand

The system delivered a set of important operational results, including:

  • Organised supply operations and higher operational efficiency
  • Fair, systematic distribution of supply quotas
  • Less congestion and delay at factories
  • Full documentation across every stage of receiving
  • Greater transparency between the entity and suppliers
  • Better decision-making via accurate, up-to-date reports

Deep Dive

How we delivered this

How It Works

The system follows a structured workflow that ensures efficiency and transparency across every stage, including:

  • Automatic allocation of supply quotas for each client
  • Booking supply appointments within the approved quotas
  • Receiving suppliers and recording their attendance on supply day
  • Laboratory inspection of dates and result documentation
  • Recording entry weight and post-receipt weight
  • Automatically computing the actual quantity received
  • Issuing the receipt document and determining the entitlement amount
  • Making reports and statistics available to management

Scalability

The system was built to be:

  • Scalable as the number of factories grows
  • Flexible to customise per operational policies
  • Extendable for future integrations with other systems

Conclusion

Through this project, TASK delivered an advanced technology solution that improved date-supply operations, raised factory operational efficiency, and brought fairness and order to one of the most sensitive processes in the Saudi date sector.
